The Greatest Show on Earth, Part 2 of2

Well, we survived the circus. We left early enough so as too avoid too much traffic. We were able to eat some great Mexican food beforehand. And we really enjoyed the activities before the show.

90 minutes before the circus starts you can attend the Animal Open House. You basically just get to see all of the animals. An hour before it starts you can go into what used to be the "Big Top". This was, without a doubt, my favorite part of the event. Clowns are walking around, you can try on circus costumes, they are doing short skits and event in three different places. It was just really neat. In the first picture, Reid and Layne are enjoying the clowns. We couldn't get them to move from that spot once they sat down.

The show is not exactly what it used to be. They now tell a story. It doesn't actually to me become more of the "circus acts" until the second act. The performers are lip syncing to really bad voices, there are not acts with domestic cats and poodles. I can see a cat or poodle in my own living room if I wanted to. Show me a bear, give me more of the elephants, or use a funny orangutan. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give the new Ringling Bros show a 7. Here is Reid with a pair of clowns.
My camera battery was going out on me. I ended up with only three pictures. The last one is of Landon asleep before the circus is over. (It was over at 10:00.) But, I love this one of Reid with the clowns. He loved the clowns and elephants. Layne's favorite part, surprise, surprise, was the Kossacks (horse riders). He said he didn't think Terry could do any of those tricks.
It was great for the kids and it added to the fun they have had this summer.
