Yesterday was supposed to be moving day, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we didn't get to. Friday, June 20 will for sure be moving day. Anyway, since we couldn't move and didn't have anything else to do, we decided to take the boys to the beach for the day. We loaded the ice chest and got some sand toys and took off to Galveston. It only takes about an hour and a half to get there. We had heard about Crystal Beach so decided to go there. You have to take a ferry to get there since it is on the Bolivar Peninsula. That is something I had never done before. While we were waiting to get on the ferry, we decided to feed the birds that were hovering over everyone's cars. We had seen someone doing it earlier and thought the boys would get a huge kick out of it. Since Ritchie has a sunroof on the big truck it was easy to do. The video below is of Reid feeding the birds.
After an hour, we finally got to the beach. The water is usually clearer at Crystal Beach one native told us. However, due to the two different tides coming in, it made the water muddy. The boys did not care! Reid was in right off the bat. Layne and Landon didn't really like it at first and decided to just play in the sand and pick up shells and rocks. By the end of the day, they decided it wasn't so bad.

We played in the water, layed out, walked up and and down the beach, had lunch, and just had a great time being together. Of course, when we brought lunch out, here came the birds. We had the worst time with those birds!
After we got cleaned up and changed we went back into Galveston and had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. We got home around 8:00 and I don't think I have ever been so ready to have a bath. Ocean water does nothing for your skin or hair! We had a great time and are making plans to go back and do some other things even after we move.
